SDanck and I grew up about 30 minutes from Cape Cod. Our family would visit every September for family trips and even family reunions. From going to the beach to mini-golfing at Pirate’s Cove, it became a favorite tradition and a staple of our childhood.

My partner and I have continued this tradition into adulthood and visit Cape Cod nearly every year. It has become one of our favorite traditions.

However, as you are looking for things to do in Cape Cod, it’s also important to consider restaurants. Below are some of our favorite breakfast places down the Cape.

Key Takeaways

  • There are several cute places to get breakfast down the Cape, including Ann & Fran’s, Good Friends Cafe, The Daily Brew Coffee Shop & Lounge, and Buttercup Cafe
  • If heading to the Cape in the off-season, be sure to check the Instagram profiles for these restaurants to check hours or updates.
  • If coming with a large party, we recommend The Daily Brew Coffee Shop & Lounge, as it has the most seating.

1. Ann & Fran’s

Location: West Yartmouth

Serving breakfast since 1975, this restaurant has become a staple of Cape Cod. They have a variety of eggs and sandwiches. If you’re vegan, they usually also carry a tofu scramble. What we love most about this place is its homey feel and baked goods, which are made fresh every day.

2. Good Friends Cafe

Location: West Dennis

This place gets busy and for good reason. When we came here, we sat at the bar counter, which was fun since we could see the hustle and bustle in the kitchen. The food was really good with a variety of pancakes and egg-style dishes to choose from.

Pro Tip: We highly recommend getting the home fries. These were excellent and had the right amount of spice/ salt.

3. Buttercup Cafe

Location: Barnstable

What I really loved about this place was the variety of fun coffees available. I got their chocolate coconut coffee, which was super delicious. Breakfast here was also very good, with us getting an egg burrito and eggs with ham. This place can get crowded during peak season, so make sure to come early or plan to get items for takeout.

4. Daily Brew Coffeehouse & Lounge

Location: Falmouth

This place had such a cool vibe. Wood panels line the walls, making it feel like a homey log cabin. There is plenty of space, with different styles of seating and tables. They also offer a range of smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, and coffees (You can even combine coffee into a smoothie, which is what I did).

There is also plenty of seating here, making it ideal for larger groups or parties when visiting the Cape.

Pro Tip: Above, you can see they have a stage. While we weren’t able to make one of their live shows, they do have some. We recommend checking out their calendar online to see who is playing.

Tips for Breakfast in Cape Cod

Check the Hours in the Off-Season

Visiting Cape Cod is very different in August than it is in December. The crowds are smaller and more places are closed. Many restaurants have different hours during the off-season or close for a portion of it. We recommend checking out a restaurant’s Instagram before heading over, just in case. You can also call ahead to make sure they are open if you don’t have access to Instagram or are traveling far to visit a specific restaurant.

Don’t Forget the Cute Cafes

Cape Cod is full of cute cafes, which are an ideal breakfast spot, particularly if you are looking for something a little more laid back.
